Lanehead is ideally situated for canoeing with Coniston Water on the doorstep. Using a fleet of Old Town 158's the Centre makes use of a trailer to transport the canoes to the most suitable venue, depending on the weather conditions and the requirements of the group. This means that we are able to canoe in all but the wildest of conditions. Some groups may opt for a gentle paddle across the lake for an ice cream at the Bluebird Café, others take pleasure in exploring Peel Island, while some groups like the challenge of paddling the whole length of the lake. Whatever the option, our qualified and highly experienced instructors will keep interest levels high by including games and teaching into the journey.

For younger groups or for inclement conditions the canoes can be rafted together for increased stability making the sport accessible to all.

Although we predominantly use Coniston for our canoe sessions we are also able to transport the canoes to other venues such as Windermere or Ullswater or local rivers such as the Rothay or Brathay for groups with slightly more experience.

Having a Level 5 coach on the staff enables us to run high quality skills courses or GCSE modules, all tailored to meet the requirements of the group.
