Lanehead Outdoor Centre offers an excellent standard of accommodation following a £1.3 million refurbishment programme that was completed at the end of 2005.
The centre was originally a country residence and sits on the hillside above the East shores of Coniston, with fantastic views over the lake towards Coniston Old Man.
The first floor houses the sleeping accommodation which is separated into two wings, allowing for easy supervision of mixed sex groups. There are four dormitories of 6 and one of 8 and two staff bedrooms that can sleep a maximum of 4 per room. All the rooms are furnished with bunk beds and wardrobes hand crafted by a local furniture maker and have en suite shower rooms and toilets again finished to an excellent standard. There is also a staff sitting area on the first floor.
The ground floor has three large communal rooms, all with large bay windows overlooking the lake.
The dining room is tastefully furnished and can seat up to 40, with facilities for making hot drinks and toast.
There is a briefing room ,again seating up to 40 which has a TV , video and DVD player and also has an induction loop for the hearing impaired. A power point projector and screen are available by prior request.

For self catering groups there is a fully equipped kitchen with a large gas oven and hob, microwave, rotating toaster and hot water boiler. There are also fridges and a freezer available for use and a large commercial dish washer housed in a separate area.
There is accessible accommodation on the ground floor comprising of a bedroom with one single bed and one specialist bed and disabled shower and toilet facilities, with an adjacent carers room with its own en suite facilities. These facilities are available by prior arrangement with the centre.
